Micro-Tech began in 1986 as a subsidiary of the international hearing devices leader, Starkey Laboratories. Located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Micro-Tech was established with the intent of supplying the hearing-impaired with compact, fashionable Micro-tech hearing aids which in spite of their dimensions could achieve superior sound clarity.

In the interests of implementing that standard, the components used in Micro-tech hearing aids are of exceptional quality, and include gold battery contacts hybrid microchips. Every Micro-tech hearing aid is subject to rigid quality control testing as well.

Micro-Tech even funds the annual trip which some of its audiologists take to Mexico, where they fit indigent hearing-impaired individuals with Micro-Tech hearing aids.

Audiologists are also important contributors to the development of innovative technologies for the users of for Micro-Tech hearing aids, and Micro-Tech is involved in providing educational programs for hearing professionals through several institutions including the American Academy of Audiology.

Micro-Tech Innovations

Some of the Micro-Tech hearing aid innovations have included the remarkable proprietary DiRx directional technology which allows Micro-Tech hearing aids users to adjust their microphones in the directions of a speaker, both providing extra clarity to his or her words and shutting out noises coming from other directions. The Caballo, Denali, and Dx3 Micro-Tech hearing aids can all be constructed with DiRx capability.

Micro-Tech was also responsible for introducing one of the earliest completely-in-canal, or CIC, hearing devices. The first of the CIC Micro-Tech hearing aids appeared in 1993, and has been followed by nearly fifteen years of advancements in compact but technologically sophisticated hearing devices. CIC Micro-Tech hearing aids can be built at their cutting edge laboratory to include any of Micro-Tech digital circuitry.

Micro-Tech has even designed its own line of batteries to use with Micro-Tech hearing aids, with gold-plated contacts to guarantee maximum conductivity.

Micro-Tech and Kids

Micro-Tech, in an attempt to ease the discomfort of children who have been diagnosed with hearing impairment, will provide a “custom care package” for delivery with the child’s behind the ear Micro-Tech hearing aid. The packages can include everything from stickers and removable tattoos to coloring books and plush animals–and they are all free!

To help children learn responsibility for taking care of their Micro-Tech hearing aids, Micro-Tech offers Mr. BTE, a plush frog-like doll with secret pockets, one of which contains a dehumidifier for the hearing aid.

Micro-Tech’s concern for the impoverished hearing impaired n Mexico and its “custom care packages” are only two signs that it is a company with a heart, to which customer service will always be the top priority.

Predictive dialers are used extensively by telemarketing firms to increase outbound call efficiency. Earlier, call center agents has to make calls to users from the database, and wait for a person to attend the call. Sometimes or most of the time the call may be unanswered or end up with busy tone or receive reply from answering machine or fax machine. So valuable call centers resources were wasted.

With predictive dialing, the computerized predictive dialer routes only the calls answered by real persons, dropping busy tones, unanswered calls etc.

Predictive dialer actually dials contact’s numbers from database. If call centre agents available are say 50, then the system makes say 100 calls. It drops unanswered calls, busy lines, answering machine and fax machine replied lines etc and route the calls answered by real human to the call centre agent. By doing so, the call centre agents are kept busy with the customer.

If call centre agents are not available at a time, the system silently drops the call after a brief time of silence. This may be annoying to the customer. In UK and USA there is strict regulation as to how these systems to be used effectively to reduce dropped calls. Regulatory authorities charge hefty fine for companies indulging in more than 3% dropped calls.

There are software based and hardware based predictive dialers. Of these hardware based dialers are feature rich. They are faster in call switching, having higher capacity line handling etc. Hardware based predictive dialers are more expensive.

Progressive dialing is also an automated dialing system, where the call center agent is displayed with the contact information for a brief amount of time before making the call. So the agent can talk more personally.

These dedicated computer based dialers are costly and the software license fees are also prohibitive. As an alternative to these dedicated computerized telephony systems, web based or hosted platforms are launched by companies like mxdigital, centric etc in the United Kingdom.
Hosted predictive dialers are cost effective. They are known as virtual predictive dialer, VOIP predictive dialer or web enabled predictive dialer. In this setup, the company to use hosted predictive dialer, they need internet connections, a computer system and a telephone line for each agent. These setups reduce initial cost involved in computer or telephony equipments, and software licenses.

These methods rely on VOIP. So the performance may be slightly degraded depending on internet connection quality.

MX Digital is a leading supplier of automated dialing solutions, including predictive, preview, precision and progressive dialing equipments and services.

MX Digital’s on-line hosted service offers a complete and robust set of contact centre systems such as Automatic Call Distribution (ACD), Predictive, Preview, and Progressive Dialler, Interactive Voice Response (IVR), Multimedia Recording & Quality Monitoring, Campaign Management & Interaction History, Web Chat & Web Collaboration, Email Management, Administration & Reporting, Video Conferencing etc.

With the advent of these call center hardware and software based telephony equipments, the call center agents and their time are most effectively utilized, increasing overall agent productivity.

MX Digital provide Call Centre Solutions, multi-media contact centre solutions in UK.

As an information technology consultant, you can assure that you get more repeat customers by making it easy for them to do business with you. An information technology consultant that makes work seem easy for clients will also gain a good reputation within his community.

Simplicity Is Key

As an information technology consultant, you need to keep it simple for every customer in order to get through to him. Techniques for making things easy for your customer include quick phone response, immediate e-mail contact and in-home visits.

Quick Phone and E-Mail Response

Many customers have probably already spent time with other informational technology consultant firms waiting for customer service to speak with them. You can make yourself stand out by ensuring this never happens to your prospects. Make it a policy to return calls yourself within two hours or less; your prospects will feel more important, and be more receptive to your proposals. You should apply the same quick-time response to e-mails. You can give customers the option of sending you e-mails or even set up a website to manage their questions and concerns.

In-Home Consultations

An information technology consultant can boost business with in-home or in-office visits. You should schedule a specific time to meet with the client, rather than giving a three-hour window of possible times you or one of your consultants will show up on-site. When a customer has to block off an entire time period, he feels inconvenienced. If you can’t finish the work you propose within the appointment time, offer to take work back with you to your office.

Convenience

Convenience is key for customers in the information technology consultant market. You can achieve this through a website that allows clients to contact you at any time to comment on their concerns. You can implement items such as a scheduling page that lets people schedule appointments without having to wait for a return call. You can also use this space to include a FAQ page or other information.

Convenience is also part of an in-home or office visit. A client can go on working while you, the consultant work on solving problems, and the client doesn’t have to drive anywhere.

Making business both easy and convenient for your customers as an information technology consultant will help build a long relationship and give you a positive reputation that will bring more customers to you in the future.

Using video tutorials to teach can be very beneficial for those in the process of learning how to use a program like Photoshop for example. It is a proven fact that not everyone learns the same way. You might be a visual learner, whereas someone else might need to hear an explanation to fully understand. Video tutorials that can be made by using a program like Camtasia will ensure that every user’s needs are met. Walking through material that is unfamiliar to users can be difficult. In most cases, there will always be one user who has trouble following and needs extra help. By creating a visual aid that is web based, users can review the process at home, working at their own pace.

What could be better than a productive session with users where everyone leaves with a complete understanding of the information you gave them? Using a series of video tutorials is the best way to make sure that happens. If potential customers can follow along with the visual aid by actually doing each step as it is shown they will have a better handle on how to use your product line. With a recorded visual aid, users can follow your instructions on their own, with a recording of your instructions, they will be able to work at their own pace so no one gets left behind.

There are many tools available to help you create video tutorials. Camtasia, a program that was mentioned above, is one such program that is easy to use. Camtasia allows you to make screen recordings that can be supported with an audio track, or narration. It also allows you to use Power Point, Picture-in-Picture and webcam video. Being able to fully show the process makes the use of video tutorials one of the best ways to show your users a process step by step. However, if you have never created video tutorials you might be wondering what kind of work is involved in putting together a visual aid like this one. Like most programs being made today Camtasia was developed to be extremely user friendly. You don’t need to be a computer expert to get your video tutorials up and running.

To record your video you need to select ‘options’ under the tools menu, which is where you will find the capture tab. After finding the capture tab you will want to follow these steps:

-Use the checkboxes to choose your capture options.

-Select “Record the Screen” from the Camtasia window.

-Designate what project you are working on, such as a Power Point

-Start a new project and select what you will be recording, the entire screen or just and area that you indicate.

-Add audio by selecting the appropriate checkbox, a box will appear so that you check the input levels of your microphone.

-After setting your sound preferences click on next, and then finish to start the recording process. During the recording process of your video tutorials you have the option to pause, but that isn’t necessary because you can edit out what you don’t want later.

For more information on this process look online at http://www.iddl.vt.edu/instructors/camtasia/

Give your users the information they both want and need with video tutorials. It may even increase your sales.

This is one problem you may have when you go around the market asking for the best Bluetooth headset. People have been using so many products that you are sure not to get one answer all the time. But over a sample size of 100, you will clearly find 3-4 products repeating themselves all over. Obviously, these products are from rather reputed companies and have managed to win over the hearts of people.

So, headsets from Motorola are obvious choices to figure in the list of good headsets of Bluetooth technology . These products have established a good base with people. Let us find out what makes a this type of headset, the best, and obviously, this just does not limit itself to Motorola products

1. The best Bluetooth headsets often come at an expensive price, yet are able to justify the amount paid for them. The myth that best headsets are often found cheap has been done away with, and people don’t mind spending the extra buck to buy something that will stay with them.

2. These headsets often have two things in common – Noise cancellation technology and echo reduction mechanism. The presence of these attributes makes these headsets an excellent choice for investing your money and time.

3. We haven’t heard of a single good headset that is voted as being bulky. Most good headsets are lightweight and go easy on the users’ heads. Surely, it pays for a good Bluetooth headset to be lightweight!

So, where do you find these best headsets?

One of the simplest ways for you to find these headsets is to use the Internet. In matter of no time, you will be guided to the website of the best possible headset in the market. Please note that the usage of the term, “best”, is subjective. What works for you may not have worked for your friend.

Many self-employed Information Technology consultants believe that they are in the IT business. The reality, however, is quite different. Being a successful Information Technology consultant often hinges on your ability to build and maintain high-value relationships.

And when it comes to getting the ball rolling during the sales process, Information Technology consultants working with small businesses should understand that overcoming sales objections is a critical aspect of sales. In order to be successful, you need to become an expert at learning how to get rid of fears surrounding paying for technology support and showing the value proposition of your sophisticated solutions.

The key to overcoming objections is to be quick. You need to convey confidence, professionalism, and know what you are talking about.

The ability to overcome sales objections is particularly useful when you are trying to sell an IT audit, also sometimes called a technology assessment. There aren’t really hard and fast rules when it comes to overcoming objections, but there are definitely some common objections you will hear.

The following are 3 common sales objections that Information Technology consultants often hear when selling to small businesses, as well as some pre-scripted objection handlers that you can use out in the field.

Your Prospective Client Says, “Isn’t Your IT Audit Overkill for a Company Our Size?” If you hear this objection, you can come back with, “If technology is important to you, think about this. Would you go on a long trip without checking out your tire pressure, oil level, and fuel gauge? Would you make a huge real estate purchase without having an independent property appraisal? You need an independent assessment of what’s going on with your IT systems, because often what appears to be the problem on the surface when it comes to technology is not at all the issue. In fact, for many small businesses, their previous Information Technology consultants did such a masterful job of disguising problems, that the IT audit becomes a huge eye-opener. And if you’ll indulge me for moment, to help illustrate this I’ve brought along a few video case studies and testimonials from our clients, who were until very recently in the same situation as you.”

Your Prospect Asks, “Can’t You Just Throw It All Away and Start from Scratch?” If this kind of question appears, consider responding with similar like, “That might sound good, but there can be a huge danger in buying too much or buying too little. If you under-buy, it means you’ve underestimated your true needs and just picked the cheapest alternative. What happens in this case is that you have to throw away what you bought just a few months ago when you realize your system is big-time inadequate. On the flip side, over-buying means you will end up spending too much of your budget on technology that is not going to work best for your company. You need a needs analysis from Information Technology consultants that will be able to tell you exactly what you need to make your most business efficient, and give you the best for the buck from your IT investments.”

Your Potential Future Client Says, “Can’t Our Internal Guru Do Some of This Work to Save Us Some Money?” When you hear this objection, you can reply with, “If this is how you want to do it, I can tell you specifically what you’ll need for an untrained person to do an IT audit, and you can decide whether or not your internal guru can handle it. You will need seven critical elements if you choose not to use trained Information Technology consultants: a complete, up-to-date system documentation; a maintenance history of what’s been done so far; a supporting call log; a list of the kinds of support calls that are being generated on a regular basis; a complete up-to-date asset inventory; a history of any recent projects that have been started or completed; a data protection vulnerability analysis. On top of this, you’ll need to give your internal guru an incredibly detailed list of exactly what needs to be done to bring you up to date. What we can accomplish in a few hours might take an non-IT professional literally weeks of time… and he or she will probably still miss a lot of key areas. It’s like trying to train someone who knows how to do their own simple tax return on the intricacies of forensic accounting or tax planning for a $100M company.” This long list of items will almost always prove to your prospective client that he/she does not have enough time or the right resources or expertise to do this type of assessment alone.

Bluetooth mobile wireless technology is the clear and simple choice when you need convenient, short-range connectivity and communication between various electronic devices, and all without the hassle of a web of wires and cables. Bluetooth technology is a standard that is globally available and simple to use because driver software does not need to be installed. The Bluetooth wireless USB adapter is making the benefits of Bluetooth technology available to almost any device that has a USB port.

There is a wide array of products that are becoming available on the market that use the Bluetooth wireless technology networking, such as: cellular phones, laptop computers, a wireless technology PDA, a wireless stereo headset, hand-held computers, cell phone headsets and MP3 players. These are just some of the products that commonly have this technology integrated into them and more are being introduced on the market all the time. An enabled USB adapter allows you to add mobile wireless technology to a desktop computer or a laptop computer, that is not equipped with Bluetooth capabilities.

Once you add a Bluetooth wireless USB adapter to your non-Bluetooth computer, you will then have the capability of the wireless technology networking aspects of Bluetooth. This will allow your computer to wirelessly connect, communicate and interact with the other Bluetooth enabled electronic devices that you own.

The enabled USB adapters of this technology are specifically designed to plug directly into any available Universal Serial Bus (USB) port that is built into your laptop computer or your desktop PC. This enables your computer to be able to make short-range connections to its other devices.

The typical range of the USB adapter is approximately 300 feet. However, the range will be affected by a number of things and the effective range could be less. Things such as terrain, the general environment, the number of other people or devices connecting, and local interference sources can all reduce the actual range of the network of this technology.

A Bluetooth enabled wireless USB adapter communicates with its other devices by means of radio transmission over a radio band frequency which is not licensed. Over this type of short-range wireless technology networking setup, voice transmissions and data transmissions can be done simultaneously and they are virtually instantaneous.

This also ensures that transmissions have protection from interference of most types and that data transfers are secure. This helps in the sharing and accessing of data and information in a timely manner that is simple and easy to use.

One of the best benefits about adding Bluetooth technology to your computer with a Bluetooth wireless USB adapter, is that you can move away from all the wires and cables that are such a part of technology today. But, even though many devices will still need a power cord, at the very least to be recharged, the mobile wireless technology that is so simple to implement, thanks to Bluetooth, will at least eliminate some of the cords and wires that can be such a nightmare to manage.

VOIP, or voice over internet protocol, has already changed the way that many Americans communicate with friends and loved ones. With VOIP it became possible to make seemingly regular phone calls – even long distance phone calls that would have cost a fortune with regular phone services, for free.

In today’s world, with the current state of the economy, everyone is looking for ways to cut their costs of living and to save money in any way possible. Eliminating high phone bills all together would be a tremendous way to save money, but there was one problem with using VOIP that severely limited its value in its original state – the user had to be close to a computer to use it.

People today have grown accustomed to portability, almost everything that we communicate on these days is portable – cordless phones and cell phone let us communicate with friends and loved ones no matter where we are or what we are doing, so it was almost like taking a step backward in terms of convenience in order to save some money.

Saving the money on all phone calls is great, but are people really willing to give up the portability of their cordless phones and cell phones to save the money – sure the VOIP would be good for calls if you new you were going to be just sitting and chatting for a while, but not being able to move about while conversing is a pretty big inconvenience for saving some money.

Enter the WiFi VOIP phone

Looking to advance the technology even further and to make VOIP a serious threat as an alternative to traditional phone service, manufacturers began to look in a similar direction to wireless modems for VOIP to operate on. The WiFi VOIP phone will allow users the same convenience and portability that they enjoy with a wireless internet connection in their homes. What this does is to give the user the same portability with their VOIP service in their homes that they would have with a regular cordless phone. With a WiFi VOIP phone, the user honestly won’t even be able to notice a difference in a switch over from the phone that they had been using to make all of their home phone calls – in fact the only difference there will be will occur in the absence of a bill from the phone company.

The Future

As technology improves and further advancements are made, there is almost no limit to what users will be able to accomplish with a WiFi VOIP phone. As more and more cities begin to adopt city-wide wireless networks, which residents can pay a monthly fee to have access to, there is a strong potential that VOIP technology will allow users to all but replace their cell phones with VOIP phones. Users would pay the monthly fee to have access to the wireless network which would cover their regular internet access, but also give them city wide access to the network on their portable VOIP phones.

What this would mean for end users who use their cell phones for nothing more than connecting with friends, family and associates is that they could effectively eliminate those cell phones and the bills that come along with them. So what we could see in the future of VOIP could conceivably be a device that would very effectively allow end users to do away with their home phone service as well as their cell phone service and allow them to do all of the connecting that they need to (local and long distance, day and night) without spending a penny more than they would already be spending for a wireless internet connection.

3G, short for “Third Generation Wireless,” is the next generation high-speed mobile system based on GSM. 3G supports broadband, packet-based transmission of voice, text, multimedia, and video data at rates from 384 kbps to 2 Mbps. At the heart of 3G is the aim to provide mobile users, wherever they may be, with the same high speed services offered by broadband. With 3G, the mobile user can access high speed internet, videoconferencing, and basic video/TV services.

3G can support a minimum of 2 Mbps for stationary or slow-moving users (walking) and 384 kbps for fast-moving vehicles (in an auto or train). Compare this to rates of 9.6-40 kbps for 2G and 2.5G systems.

3G was developed to address the ever-growing consumer demand for mobile network capacity and services. From the youth-inspired excitement for SMS to a need for seamless connectivity to the corporate network while traveling, consumers have embraced the benefits of mobility. The ITU (International Telecommunication Union) started the process of defining the 3G standard back in the mid-1980s. In 1998, the 3GPP (Third Generation Partnership Project) was established to continue developing the 3G specifications. The 3GPP is a global body that brings together several telecommunications standards bodies from Europe, Japan, the United States, Korea, and China.

3G supports the needs of a growing mobile workforce, including the typical “road warrior,” as well as those working from home, a satellite office, or commuting. 3G extends the office LAN to these mobile workers, providing access to email, corporate networks, and the Internet. There are many personal-use applications as well, ranging from “smart” appliances to e-commerce and multimedia applications. And as 3G technology evolves, advanced applications beyond those envisioned today are sure to be developed.

Here are just a few of the benefits of 3G technology:

While on the road, a manager can conduct a teleconference with colleagues to discuss an upcoming presentation. He can download the latest version, make edits online, all while talking.

Users can take advantage of mobile video on demand to watch news, sports highlights, and video clips anytime on their mobile devices.

3G gives mobile staff access to critical applications like Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications. For example, field engineers can view a customer’s profile from the road, update their files, and even close the trouble ticket while on site. Sales people can create and place orders while still at the customer’s location.

3G-enabled vehicles are beginning to enter the market. These provide access to traffic-view cameras, Internet access, gaming, and video-streaming.
